DevOps Certification Cost in India: Full Breakdown of Course, Cloud and Exam Fees
When people ask me how much DevOps certification costs in India, the first problem is usually the question itself.
There isn’t one DevOps certification fee.
You might spend less than ₹10,000 if you study on your own, use free cloud credits and follow a lower-cost Microsoft certification path. Or you might spend more than ₹1 lakh once you add live training, AWS certification, cloud labs and money for a possible retake.
That gap is large because you are really paying for several different things:
- DevOps training
- An external certification exam
- Cloud practice
- A possible exam retake
- Any hardware, connectivity or financing costs you need along the way
I find it much more useful to separate those costs before comparing courses. A ₹50,000 training program and a ₹25,659 AWS exam are completely different purchases, even though course pages can sometimes make the distinction less obvious than it should be.
How much does DevOps certification cost in India in 2026?
Here are the main figures I would use for planning right now.
| Cost | Current price or planning figure |
|---|---|
| Self-study material | ₹0 is possible |
| Instructor-led DevOps training | Depends on provider |
| StarAgile DevOps course | ₹49,999 to ₹95,998 |
| Intellipaat DevOps Architect self-paced | ₹45,030 |
| Intellipaat online classroom | ₹59,052 |
| Simplilearn DevOps training | Confirm exact program price |
| AWS Professional exam | ₹25,659 |
| Microsoft role-based exam in India | Around ₹4,865 |
| Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer | US$200 plus tax |
| Beginner cloud practice | Can start at ₹0 |
| Exam retake | Usually another exam fee |
The important part is what these numbers do not tell you.
A training course may or may not include an external certification voucher. Cloud labs may be included for a limited period, or you may need your own account. Some providers include career support. Others charge separately for certain services or make them available only after you meet eligibility requirements.
So I would never compare two programs using the headline price alone.
What are you actually paying for?
When I calculate a realistic DevOps learning budget, I break it into five parts.
Training is whatever you pay for classes, recordings, trainers, mentors and projects.
Certification is the external exam fee charged by AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud or another vendor.
Practice covers cloud infrastructure once free credits run out. That might include virtual machines, Kubernetes clusters, databases, storage and networking.
Retakes matter more than people expect. Failing an expensive certification exam means paying again.
Equipment and internet are easy to overlook. You may already have everything you need, in which case this cost is zero. But someone using an older laptop might eventually need more RAM, storage or better broadband.
Once you separate the five, comparing courses becomes much easier.
How much do DevOps courses cost in India?
Structured DevOps programs can easily cost ₹45,000 or more.
The difficult part is deciding whether the extra cost actually gives you something useful. A more expensive course can still be good value if it includes strong live teaching, useful projects, long-term access and an exam voucher. A cheaper course can become expensive once you start buying those things separately.
I looked at StarAgile, Intellipaat and Simplilearn using the same questions: price, learning format, curriculum, career support and what you should confirm before enrolling.
1. StarAgile

StarAgile currently lists its main DevOps course in the ₹49,999 to ₹95,998 range. The final amount can depend on the offer and cohort available when you join.
The program is described as roughly four months of online training covering areas such as:
- AWS
- CI/CD
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Terraform
- Ansible
- Related DevOps tools
One thing I would pay attention to here is the schedule.
The sales-call notes used for this article describe one weekday setup with classes from Monday to Thursday at around 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm, including time for questions. Friday could then be used for mentoring or project work.
That sounds manageable for some working professionals, but it is still a serious time commitment. The schedule matters almost as much as the fee if you already have a full-time job.
The notes also say recordings remain available for lifetime access.
StarAgile describes its career services using terms such as placement assistance, placement support and interview nominations. I would keep that separate from any idea of a guaranteed job. Placement support can be useful, but you still need to understand exactly what you qualify for and when those services begin.
The supplied notes also mention that one counsellor said learners could exit during the first three sessions if the course was not a good fit. Batch changes could be considered in some cases, while cancellation later in the program could become more restrictive once interview nominations had started.
Before paying, I would ask StarAgile to put these points in writing:
- Final fee including GST
- Exact batch timing
- Certificate you receive
- Whether an external exam voucher is included
- Refund conditions
- Batch-change rules
- Placement eligibility
- Recording access
StarAgile’s own pages can show different DevOps price references, which is another reason I would rely on the written quote for your specific cohort rather than an older course or location page.
2. Intellipaat

Intellipaat currently lists two main prices for its DevOps Architect training:
Self-paced: ₹45,030
Online classroom: ₹59,052
The self-paced option lists around 125 hours of recorded content. The classroom version has scheduled batches, including weekday and weekend options.
Its curriculum includes areas such as AWS, Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible and Python.
This feels more like broad DevOps career training than preparation for one specific certification exam. That distinction matters.
You can complete a DevOps course and receive the provider’s completion certificate without automatically earning AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional or another vendor credential.
Intellipaat also advertises placement support. If that part is important to you, I would ask what you actually receive after finishing the course.
For example:
- Do you need to complete every project?
- Is there a minimum assessment score?
- How many mock interviews are included?
- Are job opportunities shared with everyone?
- How long does the support continue?
The provider also advertises financing through third parties. Financing can make the upfront payment easier, but I would calculate the total repayment rather than focusing on the monthly instalment.
Also confirm whether GST, cloud labs and certification exam vouchers are included.
If the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional exam is separate, you may still need to add ₹25,659.
3. Simplilearn

Simplilearn is a little harder to compare using one price because it offers several DevOps and cloud programs.
These include DevOps Engineer programs, Azure-focused DevOps training and broader Cloud Computing and DevOps courses.
The programs can include:
- Live online classes
- Hands-on projects
- DevOps and cloud tools
- Course completion certificates
- JobAssist on eligible programs
Some Azure-related programs can also include Microsoft learning material and a voucher for an eligible Microsoft exam.
The issue is that the price and inclusions depend on the exact program you choose.
I would rather leave the price blank than take a rupee amount from one Simplilearn course and apply it to another. If you are comparing Simplilearn with StarAgile or Intellipaat, ask for the exact course name and quotation first.
Then compare:
- Total fee including GST
- Number of live teaching hours
- Program duration
- Recording access
- Lab access
- Projects
- Career services
- External exam voucher
That produces a much fairer comparison than looking at three course-page prices side by side.
How much does AWS DevOps certification cost in India?
AWS currently prices Professional certification exams at ₹25,659 through its Pearson Mindhub INR voucher store.
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional falls into that Professional certification level.
The international Professional exam price is US$300, while AWS supports INR voucher purchases for Indian candidates.
A very lean AWS path could therefore look like this:
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Self-study | ₹0 |
| Initial cloud practice | ₹0 using eligible credits |
| AWS Professional exam | ₹25,659 |
| Optional retake reserve | ₹25,659 |
That means the exam itself is already a significant purchase.
I would not book it simply because you have finished a course. Book it when you can actually work through the AWS topics comfortably and your practice results suggest you are ready.
Failing once effectively doubles the exam part of your budget.
How much does Azure DevOps certification cost in India?
Microsoft’s DevOps Engineer Expert path works differently.
You need AZ-400 together with an eligible prerequisite certification. Microsoft currently lists Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Developer Associate as prerequisite options.
Microsoft uses regional exam pricing.
Current India pages for comparable Associate and Expert role-based exams show a price of around ₹4,865 per exam, although you should still check the final AZ-400 price during registration.
For planning purposes:
| Scenario | Approximate cost |
|---|---|
| One Microsoft exam | ₹4,865 |
| Two exams | ₹9,730 |
| Two exams plus one retake reserve | ₹14,595 |
These are planning calculations rather than a Microsoft package price.
If you already hold an eligible prerequisite certification, your cost could be much lower because you may only need AZ-400.
Microsoft also updated the AZ-400 skills measured in July 2026. Current topics include source control, build and release pipelines, security, compliance and instrumentation.
How much does Google Cloud DevOps certification cost?
Google charges US$200 plus applicable tax for the Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer exam.
The exam lasts two hours and contains multiple-choice and multiple-select questions.
Google does not list a formal prerequisite, although it recommends substantial industry experience and experience working with Google Cloud.
I prefer keeping this figure in US dollars rather than publishing an INR conversion.
Exchange rates move. Your final rupee cost can also depend on taxes and the payment method used when you register.
Do you need to pay for cloud practice?
Not immediately.
All three major cloud providers currently give new users ways to start with free credits or free service allowances.
AWS
New AWS customers can currently receive US$100 in credits at signup and earn up to another US$100. The Free plan can continue for up to six months or until available credits are used.
Microsoft Azure
New Azure customers can currently receive US$200 in credit for 30 days, along with free monthly amounts for selected services.
Azure also provides free access for up to five Azure DevOps users with unlimited private Git repositories.
Google Cloud
New Google Cloud customers can currently receive US$300 in credit for 90 days, plus free usage limits on selected products.
These offers are enough for a lot of beginner practice.
The trouble usually starts when you stop paying attention to what is still running.
A Kubernetes cluster you forgot to delete can cost money. So can a VM, database, disk or public IP address sitting there after you finish the exercise.
Set billing alerts early and delete resources when you are finished with them.
The costs people tend to forget
Retakes are the obvious one.
If you fail an AWS Professional exam and need another attempt, you may have another ₹25,659 payment waiting for you.
Microsoft and Google certification retakes also mean another paid registration.
Then there are smaller expenses that can accumulate:
- GST and applicable taxes
- Practice exams
- Paid lab platforms
- Cloud charges after credits expire
- Loan or financing costs
- Laptop upgrades
- Better broadband or backup mobile data
- Travel to an exam centre
- Recertification expenses
- Career-support related payments where applicable
None of these automatically applies to everyone.
That is exactly why I would calculate your own budget rather than trusting someone else’s “total DevOps cost” figure.
The Syssn 5-Bucket DevOps Budget Model
We use a simple five-part planning method at Syssn.
It is an editorial framework, not an industry standard.
Write down five numbers:
Training: What are you paying the learning provider?
Exam: Which external certification are you actually planning to take?
Practice: How much might you spend once free cloud allowances end?
Retake: Do you want enough money available for another attempt?
Equipment: Do you actually need to upgrade anything?
Then use:
Total DevOps budget = training + external exam + paid practice + retake reserve + required equipment
For example, imagine you choose a ₹50,000 DevOps training program and want the AWS Professional certification.
If the AWS exam voucher is not included:
₹50,000 + ₹25,659 = ₹75,659
That is before taxes, cloud charges or a retake.
Now consider a ₹65,000 course that genuinely includes the exact ₹25,659 external exam voucher you were planning to buy anyway.
The more expensive course could actually be cheaper overall.
This is why the headline course price tells you less than it first appears to.
What is the cheapest way to get DevOps certified in India?
For most people, self-study has the lowest cash cost.
You can learn a surprising amount without paying for a training program:
- Linux
- Git
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- CI/CD
- Terraform
- Basic networking
- Cloud fundamentals
Microsoft Learn provides free AZ-400 study material. AWS and Google publish certification guides, technical documentation and other learning resources.
You can also practise many DevOps tasks locally before touching paid cloud infrastructure.
If your target is Microsoft certification, for example, you could use free learning material and cloud allowances, then pay mainly for your required exams.
Using the current planning figure, two Microsoft exams could cost around ₹9,730.
That is far below the ₹50,000-plus price of many instructor-led programs.
The trade-off is obvious. Nobody is creating your schedule for you.
Self-study works much better when you can consistently practise, troubleshoot your own problems and finish projects without someone checking on you every week.
Is paid DevOps training worth the money?
Sometimes it is.
I would pay for a course when the course fixes a problem I know I have.
If you struggle to study consistently, a fixed schedule can help. If you are repeatedly getting stuck on Kubernetes or Terraform, trainer access can save time. If you are changing careers, project feedback and interview practice may be useful.
But I would not pay ₹50,000 or ₹80,000 because the program gives you another completion certificate.
The better question is what you can actually do when the course ends.
Can you create a CI/CD pipeline?
Can you containerize an application?
Can you provision infrastructure using code?
Can you diagnose a broken deployment?
Can you look at monitoring data and work out what went wrong?
Can you explain why you designed the system that way?
Those abilities will tell you much more about the value of the training than the number of certificates listed on the sales page.
Which DevOps certification makes sense for a beginner?
I would be cautious about starting with a Professional-level certification if you have almost no practical cloud experience.
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional is an advanced credential.
Google recommends substantial industry and Google Cloud experience for its Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification.
Microsoft’s DevOps Engineer Expert credential requires a prerequisite certification plus AZ-400.
If you are new, build the foundation first.
Learn:
- Linux
- Networking basics
- Git
- Basic scripting
- Docker
- CI/CD concepts
- Infrastructure as code
- One major cloud platform
If Azure is your target, Azure Administrator followed by AZ-400 gives you a clear sequence.
For AWS, spend time actually building and operating workloads before jumping into the Professional exam.
There is nothing wrong with taking longer before paying for an expensive certification.
How much should a fresher budget?
A fresher can keep the initial cost surprisingly low.
One possible Microsoft-focused plan looks like this:
| Item | Lean planning figure |
|---|---|
| Free learning resources | ₹0 |
| Linux, Git and Docker practice locally | ₹0 |
| Eligible cloud credits | ₹0 initially |
| Microsoft prerequisite exam | About ₹4,865 |
| AZ-400 later | About ₹4,865 |
| One retake reserve | About ₹4,865 |
| Planned exam budget | About ₹14,595 |
You also do not need to buy both exams immediately.
Learn first. Build something. Take practice assessments. Then book the next exam.
Keeping money in your account is cheaper than booking an exam months before you are ready for it.
How much should a working professional budget?
Working professionals often pay more because time becomes part of the decision.
Using StarAgile’s current published range, training alone could cost ₹49,999 to ₹95,998.
If you then add a separate AWS Professional exam at ₹25,659:
₹49,999 + ₹25,659 = ₹75,658
At the higher end:
₹95,998 + ₹25,659 = ₹1,21,657
That is before GST, additional cloud usage or a retake.
For Intellipaat’s ₹59,052 online classroom option:
₹59,052 + ₹25,659 = ₹84,711
Again, these are examples rather than package quotations.
If your training fee already includes the exact external exam voucher you need, the calculation changes immediately.
Always ask for an inclusion list.
Questions I would ask before paying for any DevOps course
A sales page rarely answers everything I want to know.
Before paying, I would send the provider this list:
- What is the final amount including GST?
- Which certificate will I receive?
- Is an AWS, Microsoft or Google exam voucher included?
- How many hours of live teaching do I get?
- How long can I access recordings?
- Are cloud labs included?
- Will any project require my own paid cloud account?
- What happens if I miss classes?
- Can I move to another batch?
- What is the refund policy?
- What conditions apply to placement assistance?
- When do interview nominations start?
- Are there any payments after I receive a job?
- Does EMI or financing increase the total price?
And if someone gives you an important answer on a sales call, ask for the same answer in writing.
That one habit can prevent a lot of confusion later.
Cheapest route vs paid route
There is no single right way to spend money on DevOps.
If you are disciplined and already comfortable learning technical topics independently, you may be able to keep costs close to the exam fees.
If you need teaching, deadlines, project review or career support, ₹40,000 to ₹90,000-plus training may be reasonable.
The mistake is assuming that spending more automatically produces a stronger DevOps profile.
It doesn’t.
Your certification is one signal. Your projects, troubleshooting ability and technical explanations are another.
Ideally, you want both.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does DevOps certification cost in India?
The certification exam itself can range from around ₹4,865 for a Microsoft role-based exam to ₹25,659 for an AWS Professional exam. Course fees, prerequisites, cloud practice and retakes can increase the total considerably.
What is the AWS DevOps certification cost in India?
AWS currently lists ₹25,659 for Professional certification exams through its INR voucher store. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional falls under this level.
What is the Azure DevOps certification cost in India?
Microsoft uses regional exam pricing. Current India pages for comparable role-based Associate and Expert exams show around ₹4,865 per exam. Some learners also need a prerequisite certification before AZ-400.
Can I learn DevOps without paying for a course?
Yes. You can learn through free documentation, Microsoft Learn, local Linux and Docker environments, vendor certification resources and cloud free tiers. You can then pay for the certification exam once you are ready.
Do DevOps course fees include certification exams?
Sometimes.
Always ask whether the word “certification” refers to the training provider’s own course-completion certificate or an actual AWS, Microsoft or Google exam voucher.
They are not the same thing.
How much should I budget for cloud practice?
You can start at ₹0 if you qualify for AWS, Azure or Google Cloud free offers.
Your later cost depends on what you run. Kubernetes clusters, databases and multiple virtual machines can consume credits much faster than basic exercises.
Should I keep money aside for an exam retake?
I would.
One failed AWS Professional attempt can add another ₹25,659 to your budget. Keeping a retake reserve makes your planning more realistic.
Is DevOps certification worth the cost in India?
It can be when the certification matches the jobs and cloud platform you are targeting.
I would still put practical ability first. Build pipelines, work with containers, automate infrastructure and learn how to troubleshoot failures.
A certificate becomes more useful when you can back it up with actual work.
Final cost check
If you only remember a few numbers from this guide, make them these:
StarAgile: ₹49,999 to ₹95,998 on its current main DevOps course page. Confirm the final cohort price and inclusions.
Intellipaat: ₹45,030 for self-paced training or ₹59,052 for its online classroom DevOps Architect program.
Simplilearn: Ask for the current India price of the exact DevOps program you are considering.
AWS Professional exam: ₹25,659 through the INR voucher store.
Microsoft role-based exam: Around ₹4,865 based on current India pricing for comparable Associate and Expert exams.
Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer: US$200 plus tax.
The number I would pay the most attention to, though, is your total.
Course fee. Exam. Cloud practice. Retake reserve. Equipment.
Add those first.
Then decide whether the program in front of you still looks affordable.
